Find Your Sense of Purpose with a Visual Arts Degree at Northern Vermont University
Artists see the world through a special lens, using their creative skills to show us what is unique or surprising about the everyday. In our associate of arts program in visual arts at NVU-Lyndon, you’ll explore a range of artistic mediums, building your foundation in drawing and 2-D design, as you focus on your interests with courses in painting, book arts, calligraphy, or 3-D arts such as sculpture.
Working in our modern, environmentally friendly facilities, you’ll be challenged to find creative approaches to artistic problems. You will learn in small classes with supportive faculty and peers as you hone your own unique style. And learning goes beyond the classroom and studio at NVU — international travel opportunities are possible with a number of art classes.
Build Solid Art Skills and Knowledge
Whether you want to pursue the A.A. degree in visual arts by itself or supplement your bachelor’s degree studies by developing your artistic skills, you’ll graduate able to demonstrate:
- Your ability to express original ideas in a visual way
- Your ability to use a variety of techniques specific to the art medium
- Your ability to exhibit artwork following standard conventions
- Your awareness of historical and/or contemporary artists or art forms
NVU-Lyndon also offers a minor in visual arts.
