Make a Difference that Lasts with an Education Degree from Northern Vermont University

As an education major at NVU, you’ll build skills to lead the next generation by mastering technologies, working with diverse student populations, and learning how to adapt to change. You’ll get in the classroom early on as a student teacher to make sure the major is a good fit. Throughout your studies, you’ll gain invaluable experience in real classrooms, working with seasoned teachers who will help you follow your own direction as an educator.

Your theoretical and in-the-classroom training will prepare you to teach a range of student populations, depending on your specific program, including special needs students, integrated elementary school students, early childhood students, and secondary-level students.

Our teacher preparation programs, approved by the Vermont Agency of Education, have produced award-winning teachers over the years, so you’ll graduate well-prepared to pursue licensure. Vermont teaching licenses are accepted reciprocally by many other states.
