Where We Are
Parking, Driving Directions, and Area Hotels and Accommodations Near NVU-Johnson
With year-round mountain views on both NVU campuses, you can see every day why Vermont is called the Green Mountain State. NVU is in the heart of the beautiful, inspiring mountains. No smog. No traffic congestion. You can see stars at night and hear yourself think.
But as a student at NVU-Johnson, you’ll be close to big-city life, with Boston, Montreal, New York, and other cultural and sports centers less than a day’s drive away. Within Vermont, the state’s largest city and college town, Burlington, and the capital, Montpelier, isn’t far. And we’re a short distance from some of the region’s best outdoor recreational hubs like the Long Trail, Smuggler’s Notch Resort, Stowe Mountain Resort, Jay Peak Resort, and the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail.
Driving Directions
Vermont Rt. 15 goes to the town of Johnson, where the campus is located. When you arrive in Johnson, turn right onto Pearl Street, cross the bridge and go straight. (Your maps app may direct you to turn on School Street, but don’t do it!) Just over half a mile up the hill, the campus entrance will be on your right.
Other Ways to Arrive
There is no public transportation option from the train or bus station or the airport to Johnson. However, transportation can be arranged to and from the airport or bus station for official NVU breaks.
Visitor Parking
Visitor parking is available and located in three main parking areas.
Admissions/Martinetti Hall
From the main entrance, follow the road all the way to the end of the loop where you will encounter a stop sign. From that sign, turn right immediately into the faculty/staff parking lot. Take the left that runs in front of Martinetti Hall. You will see visitor parking spaces to your left, and also in front of the main entrance for Admissions.
Dibden Center for the Arts/Library
From the main entrance take the first right, following the signs to Dibden and the Willey Library and Learning Center (WLLC). Continue straight, after stopping at the stop sign. You will see visitor parking at the end of the lot and to your left.
Visual Arts Center
From the main entrance, take the second right into the Visual Arts Center parking lot. You will find visitor parking at the corner of the lot nearest the athletic fields, towards campus.
