Family, Friends, Fun at NVU–Johnson: September 10-12, 2021

Homecoming and Family Weekend is set for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, September 10-12, 2021. As always there will be lots of fun and family-friendly activities happening all weekend long! Check out what we have planned for you!

In Memory Of 9/11

Our alumni Homecoming and Family Weekend coincides with the twentieth anniversary of 9/11. As we come together during this significant anniversary, we will gather to share in moments of silence in remembrance and collective support.

Saturday, Sept. 11   Visit the Welcome Center! (Outside Big Tent) 
Stop by to check in and get event information, area maps, and special alumni gifts.  
  11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 

Alumni Awards and Roll Call Brunch  (Stearns, $25, Register in advance) 
Alumni join their friends to reminisce and learn about what’s happening on campus. Alumni Awards will be presented by The Alumni Council. 

  11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  Badger Bar-B-Que! (Big Tent-FREE)
Alumni, students and their families, and friends are welcome to join us for a delicious BBQ. 
  12 - 5:30 p.m. Quad Fest! (Quad)
Fun for the whole family: games, crafts, tunes and more! 
  12 p.m. Women’s Soccer Game vs. Cazenovia College (Minaert Upper Field) 
Come cheer on our players!
  1 p.m. Tour of Campus (Meet the tour guide in the Fireplace Lounge in Stearns)
  2 - 8 p.m. Beer and Wine Tent (Small Tent)
Enjoy a glass of wine or a beer from an alumni-owned brewery and play lawn games. 
  2 - 3 p.m. Ice Cream Social (Big Tent)

Looking for something to do in between events? 

  • Buy NVU swag! Pick up your new gear in the bookstore between 10-2 (Dewey Hall).
  • Catch frogs at the Lower Pond or hike the Babcock Nature Preserve or on the campus trails! Directions and maps are available at welcome table.
  • Take a drive and explore the area. Maps of the area’s covered bridges and local attractions available at hospitality table. The Stowe Farmers Market is open on Sunday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Take the Julian Scott Walking Tour. Grab a map at the hospitality table.
  • Play Frolf! Grab a map at the hospitality table, borrow some discs from SHAPE, and play the back nine.
  • Visit the Johnson Historical Society. Open on Sunday from 1 – 4 p.m. and located at 188 Lower Main Street.
  • Wander around the Memorial Gardens. Grab a brochure and map at the welcome table.
  • Workout at the outdoor exercise station circuit. Grab a map at the welcome table.
