Events to observe Veterans Day and honor veterans are planned on Nov. 8 and Nov. 11 at Northern Vermont University’s campuses in Johnson and Lyndon.

Any veteran in Vermont is invited to attend NVU-Johnson’s annual veterans’ dinner 5:30-7 p.m. Nov. 8 at Stearns Student Center Performance Space. The event will feature a free dinner served by students.

Registration is required by Nov. 4. To register, visit NorthernVermont.edu/VeteransDinnerRSVP. For more information, call 802.635.1227.

At NVU’s Lyndon campus at 11 a.m. Nov. 11, a plaque with names of NVU-Lyndon students, faculty and staff who are veterans will be added to the Wall of Honor at Veterans Park on campus beside Samuel Read Hall Library and Academic Center. The event is free for the public. The 27 names on the new plaque will be added to the 150 names now on the wall.

A marble statue of a lion, made by the late Ray Geremia, a Korean War veteran, also will be installed at Veterans Park. Geremia taught in the visual arts department at Lyndon State College, now NVU-Lyndon.
