About Leah Hollenberger

Leah Hollenberger joined Northern Vermont University in March 2019 as the University Development and External Relations Officer and is a member of the President’s Executive Team. She oversees Development and Alumni Relations personnel and activities across both campuses. She joined NVU having served as Vice President of Marketing, Development, and Community Relations for Copley Hospital in Morrisville, VT. A former award-winning TV and Radio producer, she has worked with Vermont Public Radio and WFXT and WGBH in Boston. Leah is the mother of two and spends her free time volunteering, cooking, playing outdoors, and producing textile arts.

Northern Vermont University maintains two offices of Development and Alumni Relations); one on the Johnson campus located in Martinetti Hall and one on the Lyndon campus, called Institutional Advancement, located in Vail. Our Development and Alumni Relations team consists of Hollenberger, Lauren Philie (Johnson), Jenny Harris and Sara Lussier (Lyndon).

The Development and Alumni Relations program has three main areas of responsibility: fundraising, alumni relations, and community building.

Development focuses on gift solicitations and fundraising initiatives to benefit the entire campus community.  Our fundraising is focused on cultivating and stewarding donor relationships with alumni, friends, businesses, staff/faculty and private foundations to create and maintain strong annual giving, endowment giving, and planned giving to the University

Alumni Relations is focused on creating and maintaining positive, meaningful lifelong relationships between NVU and its alumni; Johnson, Lyndon and online. Activities and events hosted by this office have the goal of encouraging alumni to be ambassadors of the University in support of the mission and financial needs of the University.  We strive to foster a proud, active, and supportive body of alumni who will continue to recognize their alma mater through volunteerism, service, mentoring, giving, and advocacy.
