Expand Your Perspective with an Associate of Arts Degree in General Studies
Enhance your education or lay the groundwork for a nursing degree.
Our two-year A.A. degree program, available at both the Johnson and Lyndon campuses, exposes you to a range of disciplines and provides a solid educational base for future studies at the bachelor’s or professional level. You can design a program that fits your goals. If you’re not sure about your plans, it’s a great way to explore your options — and you’ll have the advantage of an associate degree.
In addition to taking the core general education requirements, you’ll work with your advisor to select courses in your areas of academic and professional interest.
NVU-Lyndon general studies students have the option of pursuing nursing school with Lyndon's pre-nursing program, which prepares students for the nursing program at Vermont Technical College. Lyndon pre-nursing students will take English, math, biology, and psychology courses at Lyndon and a nutrition course at Community College of Vermont (CCV).
The partnership between these three campuses in the Vermont State Colleges system allows a smooth transfer of academic information and enables students to be simultaneously enrolled at NVU-Lyndon and CCV. Lyndon pre-nursing students are individually advised by a Vermont Tech administrator who provides guidance on course requirements and the Vermont Tech admission process.
