Introduction to Lead Rock Climbing

Learn how to put the rope up! This course if for individuals who have climbed before and possibly led in the gym. This course will be tailored to meet individual goals and abilities of the participants, but will follow a progression from mock leading to sport leading to mock trad leading — and possible trad leads for those who are ready.

Rock Climbing Anchor Building

Date: June 15-17, 2020 (three full days)

Spend three days learning about how to build climbing anchors that a mountain guide would approve of! This course will teach you how to use a traditional (trad) rock climbing equipment, trees, and bolts combined with the knots you need to know, to create reliable climbing anchors and the basics of managing a climbing site. This course is ideal for those who hope to set up ropes for groups, their family, or their own recreation, but who do not feel they are yet ready to take an American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) course.
