Events for New Northern Vermont University Students

Classes don’t start until late August, but there will be a number of opportunities for new Northern Vermont University students to get oriented, meet other new students, make connections with staff, faculty, and current students, and prepare to start off the school year on the right foot. All new students on both campuses are required to attend our Summer Orientation and Resources (SOAR) events and Fall Orientation Weekend. New qualifying students at Johnson and Lyndon may be eligible to participate in our Summer Bridge program.

SOAR (Student Orientation And Registration)

During the months of July and August, the SOAR Team will welcome you to our community through our virtual SOAR course and campus based SOAR events to help you prepare for a strong start at NVU.

Summer Bridge

Students from both campuses who come from low-income families or are first-generation college students can apply to participate in a five-day intensive program geared toward helping you prepare for college life.
