COVID-19 Update| 3 New Positives | Flu Clinics

A Message from Interim President John W. Mills

Dear NVU Students, Faculty, and Staff,

We have three new COVID-19 positives to report on the Johnson campus. Contact tracing is underway. Total cumulative positives since the start of the semester are tracked at NorthernVermont.edu/COVID19.

As we continue through this pandemic and enter cold and flu season, I want to underscore how important it is for you to stay home if you are sick. This means not coming to class or work when you are sick. This is critically important to keep our community safe. Additionally, keep wearing your mask. A mask helps protect you from COVID-19 and also from flu and cold.

Students with symptoms of illness or concerns about COVID-19 exposure should contact Dean of Students Jonathan Davis at Jonathan.Davis@NorthernVermont.edu before attending class or an on-campus job or university activity. Employees with those same concerns should contact their supervisor before coming to work.

Attend a Flu Vaccination Clinic for NVU Students, Staff, and Faculty

I encourage you to get your flu vaccine this year. This will keep you safe and help keep hospitalizations and pressure on our medical system lower, which is even more important because of the pandemic.

Campus flu vaccination clinics will be first-come, first-served while supplies last.

  • Lyndon Campus: Thursday, October 21, Moore Community Room, 9 a.m. – noon
  • Johnson Campus: Friday, October 22, Multi Gym, 9 a.m. – noon

Thank you for keeping your health and the health of all students, staff, and faculty front and center. #MASKUPNVU #VAXUPNVU

Thank you,
John
