COVID-19 Update | 3 Additional Positives | Testing Today

A Message from Interim President John W. Mills:

Dear NVU Students, Faculty, and Staff,

We have three additional COVID-19 positives on the Johnson campus from our testing Wednesday, one commuting student and two residential. All active positives are either in isolation on campus or off. Full contact tracing is underway. This brings our total to eleven positives on the Johnson campus since the start of the semester.

We will be testing at Johnson today as planned. Testing is open to all campus-based students, faculty, and staff. Please test if you are showing any symptoms and if you have been asked to do so as a close contact to our positive cases.

  • Testing Today at NVU-Johnson: noon-1:15 p.m., outside the WLLC; rain location: Multi Gym
  • Weekly on both campuses:
    • NVU-Johnson: Wednesdays, noon-1:15 p.m., Multi Gym
    • NVU-Lyndon: Wednesdays, noon-1:15 p.m., Alexander Twilight Theatre Lobby

We all must mask up properly. It is required indoors and critical to your own well-being and the well-being of our greater NVU community.

Vaccinations work. They keep the vast majority of vaccinated people from getting seriously ill with COVID-19. They are required of all students who will be on campus at any time during the school year. If you have not done so, fill out the vaccination form at NorthernVermont.edu/COVID19Vaccination.

To date, we have 99% compliance with vaccination reporting with a 95% vaccination rate for students who are or will be on campus during the academic year.

Over the weekend, we will make a decision about whether we will be in person for classes on the Johnson campus next Tuesday.

Get outside while you can over the holiday weekend. Fresh air is good for you. Be sure to mask up properly when inside or in cars with others.

Thank you,
John
