Make a Difference that Lasts with a Music Education Degree from Northern Vermont University
A love of music can take many forms, from an appreciation of certain types of music to performing alone or with a group. Some musicians, though, want to share the gift of music with generations to come by teaching.
The four-year bachelor of music education program at NVU-Johnson gives musicians who want to teach the skills to make it happen. The program gives you a grounding in music fundamentals and the current structures, systems, and practices in education. You’ll get a challenging, hands-on education in instrumental, choral, and general music methods. You’ll also get help applying for the State of Vermont certification for a music specialization in grades pre-K through 12.
You’ll graduate with the skills, knowledge, confidence, and passion to stand out in the job market and become a successful teacher. Successful completion of the program leads to recommendation for Vermont Educator Licensure with an endorsement in Music Education (PK-12).
