About the Minor in Race and Gender

The race and gender minor at Northern Vermont University is well-suited for a variety of students, particularly those who are interested in studying social justice issues and/or who will eventually be working professionally with diverse populations. Students who intend to pursue graduate studies in criminal justice, restorative justice, legal studies, sociology, social work, anthropology, and psychology will also find this minor beneficial.

Classes like Challenging Race and Racism in America; Gender and Society; History of Race in America; Race, Class, and Crime; and Women, Girls, and Crime will give you a solid foundation in this area of study.

Students sit and study together at a table.
