This is our annual welcome-back event for the spring semester, featuring keynote speaker Kesha Ram, who is familiar with both Vermont and the civil rights struggle.

After the ceremony, all NVU-Johnson community members are invited to a free and open-to-the-campus community meal in the Stearns Dining Hall from
12:10 to 1:30 p.m. Kesha Ram will be available during lunch to speak to any students, faculty, and staff who have further questions.
Kesha Ram won a seat in the Vermont House of Representatives when she was 22 years old, and served four terms on behalf of Burlington. In 2018, she graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government with a Master in Public Administration. She has worked for the City of Burlington as the Civic Engagement Specialist and for Steps to End Domestic Violence as the Legal Advocacy Director. She is chair of the Vermont Attorney General’s Immigration Task Force and also serves on the boards of Emerge Vermont, the Main Street Alliance of Vermont, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, and the Vermont Natural Resources Council.
