Make An Impact By Giving To The Fund of Your Choice

Annual Fund – Your contribution will be used in the area of greatest need.

Scholarship Fund – Your contribution will be used to help offset the financial burden of pursing a college education by providing scholarship support to students.

Learning and Working Community Fund – Your contribution will be used to provide relevant hands-on learning opportunities for our students through paid internships.

Athletics – Your contribution will benefit our entire athletic program; allowing us to enhance our visibility, student-athlete experience, and recruitment efforts.

Support an Endowment – An endowment is an excellent way to provide a reliable source of revenue in support of student scholarships or another area of interest at NVU. When you support an endowment, you enable awards to be given annually in perpetuity.

Please contact the Alumni Relations and Development office at any time with any questions you may have or if you would like additional information.

If you are 70 1/2 or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly from your individual retirement account without incurring taxable income (sometimes called a “rollover” gift).

The gift must come directly from your IRA administrator to the university and can satisfy all or some portion of your required minimum distribution for the year. Please notify your IRA Administrator of your intention to make a qualified charitable contribution from your IRA to NVU.

The SECURE Act increased the MRD (Minimum Required Distribution) age from 70 1/2 to 72. The age for a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), however, still remains at 70 1/2.

Gifts can be made in memory of a loved one. For help with language to use to request memorial contributions in an obituary, please contact us.

Honor family or friends with gifts in their honor. Consider a gift in honor of Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, a holiday gift, retirement gift, or for another notable occasion.

We will let your honoree know of your thoughtfulness without sharing the gift amount.

Many employers match gifts their employees make to non-profit organizations. It is a great way to make your gift go further for NVU. Ask your employer about matching donations; typically it is handled through the Human Resources Department.

Gifts of appreciated securities can help you reduce your capital gains taxes and receive a tax deduction for the full market value of the stock. To donate securities to Northern Vermont University, ask your broker to transfer eligible securities to:
