Giving to Vermont State

Help Us Help Them Thrive

Education opens the door to opportunity. Every year, we welcome students with incredible potential who rely upon the resources available to them through a Vermont State education to reach their potential and follow their dreams.

For many of our students, their education wouldn’t be possible without the aid we are able to provide thanks to generous donations from our alumni and other supporters. Your contribution empowers us to continue to make innovative, career-focused education accessible to students in Vermont and the region, no matter their background.

How to Give

Give online

You can give now using a debit card, credit card, Venmo, Paypal, Google Pay Apple Pay, or a direct debit from your bank account through our secure online giving portal. You will be able to designate an area, such as student scholarships or athletics, for your gift.

Planned Giving

Vermont State University’s giving options provide both planning strategies and flexibility that may minimize your tax implications. Additionally, giving to VTSU may reduce your income taxes, help you avoid capital gains tax, increase your spendable income, retain payments for life and achieve no-cost, worry-free asset management. Planned Giving occurs in five basic ways:

  • Bequests through your Will
  • Charitable Gift Annuities and Remainder Trusts
  • Charitable Lead Trusts
  • Gifts form retirement plans
  • Gifts of assets

Matching Gifts

Did you know you may be able to double or even triple the impact of your gift through your employer’s matching gifts program? Many employers match gifts their employees make to non-profit organizations. It is a great way to make your gift go further for VTSU. Ask your employer about matching donations; typically it is handled through the Human Resources Department.

Volunteer

Giving isn’t just about money. As a member of the alumni community, you can give back to the university in a powerful way by volunteering your time.

Whether you serve as an Admissions Ambassador, a student mentor, or give an informational interview to prepare those nearing graduation for the job market, you can play an essential role in helping Vermont State and our students succeed.
