In a town meeting at Johnson State College, Sen. Bernie Sanders called for a “revolution” in the way higher education is funded in the United States, including tuition-free courses for first-year students and sophomores at all public colleges and universities in addition to reforms in federal student loans. The Stowe Reporter covered Sanders’ visit, and The Bennington Banner published an editorial on the topic, asking “Can we afford not to change college costs?”
