NVU Testing Update | Vaccine Clinic Today! | Campus Visitation and Safety

NVU Community:

Testing Update and Vaccine Clinic:

  • NVU will not continue regular testing through the summer months. The demand has reduced significantly since the spring semester ended and as vaccination rates go up. The state does not recommend surveillance testing for those fully vaccinated. We will reevaluate testing services as the fall semester approaches. There are still many ways for you to test at no charge in the community; please log in or create an account here to find a location near you.
  • NVU-Johnson is partnering with the State of Vermont and Newport Ambulance to host a Johnson & Johnson vaccine clinic today, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in the Bentley Parking Lot. Drive up, walk up, or you can register here.

Visitation and Safety:

  • During the summer months, we are taking steps to reduce the risk of virus transmission and encourage vaccination, which includes a full vaccination requirement for all *non-student and non-employee visitors to our campus that are age 16 and above. *Current NVU students not employed or enrolled in summer classes at NVU fall under the visitor 16+ full vaccination requirement if planning to visit this summer. Full vaccination means two weeks after the Johnson & Johnson version or two weeks after the second shot for Pfizer and Moderna.
  • Face coverings shall be worn indoors by all unvaccinated faculty, staff, students, and visitors when in the presence of others and in common areas (for example, dining hall). When outdoors, and more than six feet apart from one another, masks are not required whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, but discretion must be exercised, and masks should be carried on the person in the event circumstances warrant their use.
