After years of tests, deadlines, and to-do lists, Senior Week is a series of social events for graduating seniors, designed to provide a relaxing way for seniors to connect and make memories as a class before graduation.

A group of students and staff have been planning events for both campuses, including the return of the Northern Vermont University Senior Cruise!

Monday, May 8

11 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Spring carnival on the Quad. There will be music, games, and giveaways.

4:30 – 7:30 p.m.: End of semester BBQ on the Quad. There will be burgers, hotdogs, salad, and dessert.

Tuesday, May 9

3 – 5 p.m. *Senior Only* Cap decorating in the Badger Burrow, Dewey Hall.  There will be decorations, snacks and music.

8 – 10 p.m.: Movie night featuring “Grease”. In the cinema, Stearns Hall. Snacks for all.

Wednesday, May 10

3 – 7 p.m.: Archery tag, jousting, and bubble boxing on the Quad.

Thursday, May 11

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: *Senior Only* Brunch, slideshow, and champagne toast in the Stearns Performance Space.

8 – 11 p.m.: Spring dance and fire pit on the Quad.

Friday, May 12

6pm-9pm: *Senior Only* Cruise on Lake Champlain. Captain’s dinner buffet, cash bar, and DJ.

Van departs Bentley parking lot at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday, May 13

4 p.m.: Northern Vermont University Commencement Ceremony, South Lawn!

This year’s Senior Week will run Thursday, May 4 to Saturday, May 13.

To be eligible to participate in Senior Week, you must be part of the Class of 2023, which is defined as August and December 2022 graduates and May 2023 graduation candidates. In order to participate, you must register in advance. Some events have limited capacity and reservations will be handled on a first come, first served basis. All events are FREE for graduating seniors.

Eligible seniors will receive a link to register for Senior Week in their campus emails.

Senior Toast
1 p.m.
Under the commencement tent

Graduating seniors, faculty, and staff are invited to a celebratory Senior Toast in honor of graduation. Together, we will raise a glass in honor of our graduates. The toast will take place at the conclusion of graduation rehearsal, which starts at 12:30 p.m. in the Bole Gym.

Senior Dinner Cruise 
Spirit of Ethan Allen III, Burlington, Vt.
Limited Seats on the Bus and Boat!

Graduating Lyndon seniors and their guests will travel to Burlington where they will join graduating Johnson and Vermont Tech seniors and enjoy a formal dinner and cruise on Lake Champlain’s Spirit of Ethan Allen III. As they enjoy dinner together on the floating restaurant, the sun will be setting over the lake – it couldn’t be more perfect. Dancing caps off the evening’s events.

Menu: Mixed garden salad, dinner rolls, chipotle and honey barbecue chicken, chef carved prime rib, macaroni and cheese, roasted Brussel sprouts, oven roasted red potatoes, and Spirit Tuxedo cake. Cash bar.

Cost: Free for graduating seniors. Each senior will be allowed to bring one paid guest. The cost per guest is $60. Reservations will be handled on a first come, first served basis. If space allows, we may allow seniors to bring an additional guest.

Transportation: There will be university-sponsored transportation available on a limited basis. Graduating seniors and their guests can reserve a seat on a chartered bus on a first come, first served basis. The bus will load at 3:15 p.m. and leave at 3:30 p.m. sharp from the Vail Parking Lot.

Graduating seniors and guests driving themselves or carpooling must arrive at the boat by 6:15 p.m. The physical address for the Spirit of Ethan Allen III is 1 College St, Burlington, VT 05401. The boat docks behind the ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain. Please note that there is a cost to park and spaces are limited near the dock. Please plan accordingly to arrive in time to find parking and walk to the boat, if necessary.

We will start boarding the boat at 6 p.m. and enjoy happy hour until we set sail at 6:30 p.m. The boat will return to the dock at 9 p.m. The bus will leave Burlington by 9:15 p.m. and arrive back at the Lyndon campus around 11:15 p.m.

Photographer and Lyndon alum Kate Perry ’16 will be offering ten-minute graduation mini sessions for seniors and their families. Be sure to bring your caps, tassels, gowns, and cords if you’d like to be photographed in them. We’ll have a diploma jacket available to use in your photos as well. Digital files will be sent after commencement.
