Information for New Families

Information for New Families

North is family.

Entering college is a significant step toward independence and maturity for your student. Students report that input from their parents is one of the most significant influences on the decisions they make when they come to Northern Vermont University-Lyndon. Informed families can and do influence the success of their children when they attend college.

The more you know about the academic resources and services available to your student, the better prepared you will be to ask the right questions or provide the most helpful answers in the future. Therefore, we strongly encourage families of both first-year and new transfer students to attend a SOAR session and get involved in the NVU-Lyndon community.

The Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR) program isn’t just for students. We encourage families of all new students to participate in a SOAR program specifically designed to meet the your needs.
