About Russ Weis

Russ Weis first fell in love with the NVU-Johnson community when he started taking courses at Johnson State College in pursuit of his master’s in education. Since that time, he’s worn many hats, from Upward Bound staff member to coordinator of local projects in the SERVE Office to student environmental club advisor to adjunct education instructor to part-time writing professor.

Currently, he’s a full-time academic advisor to first-year students, a position that allows him to fulfill his overriding passion for helping motivated students pursue their educational dreams.

In addition to helping students achieve their best futures, he also enjoys the “Four R’s”: reading, ’riting, ’rithmetic, and running, as well as soccer, skiing, hiking, and biking.
