There’s always something to do at Northern Vermont University.

As an NVU student, you’ll always find fun things to do, whether it’s cheering on your Lyndon Hornets or Johnson Badgers varsity teams, rocking out at a concert on campus, exploring the outdoors in our beautiful Green Mountains, catching an art exhibit, or shopping in Burlington or other nearby cities. All year, there are performances, workshops, community service volunteer projects, and more.

And clubs on both campuses offer activities that appeal to interests ranging from a capella singing to wellness. You might want to start a new club while you’re here.

If you’re a sports fan or athlete, our Lyndon and Johnson campuses have a variety of women’s and men’s NCAA Division III teams, as well as intramural and club sports. If you’re into the arts, you’ll enjoy watching films in our campus theaters, as well as dance and theater performances by students and touring groups.

Outdoor Recreation Off-Campus Trips, Game Show Night, Coffeehouses

NVU-sponsored recreational activities on and off campus are offered year-round, there’s great skiing at top Northeast resorts nearby, and you’ll love the skateparks and disc golf courses on each campus.

NVU-Johnson’s Student-Led Activity Programming (SLAP) organizes all kinds of fun: game show and open mic nights, Super Bowl parties, trips to off-campus spots such as the Jay Peak indoor water park, and laser tag. If you want to shop, check out a show, or eat out with friends, Johnson provides free shuttles to and from Morrisville and Burlington.

NVU-Lyndon offers bus trips to fantastic locations, including New York and Boston, in addition to sledding parties, poker nights, coffeehouses, skating, slam poetry evenings, some seriously silly events — Insomnia Bowl, anyone? — and much more.
