At the height of performance.

At NVU’s Johnson and Lyndon campuses, student success in the classroom is a priority. We have high expectations for your performance and success, but we don’t expect you to do it alone. We will support you along the way with tutoring, opportunities to take a leadership role in our Student-Athlete Advisory Council, and more.

We’re proud of the high standards we have for student success as an NCAA Division III school. At Northern Vermont University, you’ll be encouraged to: discover your interests and pursue your passions beyond the classroom and field of play; develop your whole self through small classes, sports participation, and extracurricular opportunities; and dedicate yourself to reach your full potential, inside the classroom and out.

Johnson Badgers and Lyndon Hornets

While we are one university, each of our campuses maintains its own teams with its own mascot. This means you will play on the team at the campus where you enroll. This also means that sometimes the Johnson Badgers and Lyndon Hornets will compete against each other!

“It’s hard work to be a student-athlete, but definitely worth it. It helped me stay focused on my school work: to be able to play, you have to do well in  your classes. It was an amazing experience that I will carry with me the rest of my life.”
