Lyndon Service and Outreach
North changes perspectives and brings people together.
At NVU-Lyndon, there are many ways you can collaborate and innovate to make a positive impact locally, around Vermont, and beyond. You’ll have opportunities to create meaningful change, and in the process you’ll learn about yourself and your strengths, develop leadership and other skills employers want, and get the satisfaction of helping other people.
North jumps in and makes a difference that lasts
Working with nonprofits in Vermont and around New England, the real-world experiences available through service work can guide you on your career and life paths. If you join our community service club, A Society of Students in Service Together (ASSIST), you can give back, have fun, and broaden your worldview by helping address specific issues. Students in ASSIST volunteer with food drives and other projects for the local nonprofit Helping Other People Every day (H.O.P.E.)
ASSIST students participate in other events and projects, too, from Vermont’s annual Green Up Day, American Red Cross blood drives, and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life to Habitat for Humanity activities and disaster relief work. Community service is an important way you can put into practice our campus values of social justice and diversity and inclusion.
