About Shane Bufano


For two seasons Shane Bufano served as an assistant women’s coach at Division II Saint Michael’s College in Colchester. Prior to his time at Saint Michael’s, he coached in the South Burlington High School boys’ soccer program from 2011 to 2014, helping the Rebels appear in three Division 1 State Championship Games, capturing two state titles in 2011 and 2014. Shane Bufano is also the founder and director of coaching for Queen City FC of Burlington. The club holds a current membership of over 300 youth players on over 20 boys’ and girls’ teams between U-8 and U-19. Recently, he earned two of the Vermont Soccer Association’s highest honors as he was named VSA Administrator of the Year in 2016 and the VSA Girls Coach of the Year in 2013.

Shane Bufano earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2009 from Green Mountain College, where he was a two-time Association of D3 Independents (AD3I) All-Conference selection as a forward for the Eagles and led the team in points and goals in 2005 and 2006.

Prior to Green Mountain, he played at Champlain Valley Union High School in Hinesburg, Vt., winning two state titles (2002, 2003). He also played several years with Nordic Soccer Club and was a member of Vermont ODP for three seasons.

Shane Bufano holds several coaching certifications, including the NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, NSCAA Level I Goalkeeper License, NSCAA Futsal Level I Diploma, and USSF National “D” Coaching License.
