About Surinda Cavanaugh

Surinda Cavanagh formally began her life-long study of Ayurveda in 2005. Since then, she has been educating her clients and students through diet and lifestyle consultations, asana practice, ayurveda bodywork, and workshops. She brings a wealth of clinical and life experience to the academic setting.
Surinda’s undergraduate degree was in design at Syracuse University. A career in design was the beginning of her life experience, which soon led to a strong desire to study holistic medicine. The medicine and philosophy native to India had a natural attraction for her, as her father originated from Punjab. Her commitment to her native medicine has led her to a lifelong, international study of Ayurveda and Yogic Philosophy.
She is a nationally certified Ayurvedic Practitioner by the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. Her studies at the Kripalu School of Ayurveda, Jiva Insititute, and Boston Ayurvedic School have provided her with clinical training with such masters as Dr.Vasant Lad, Dr. David Frawley, Dr. Robert Svoboda, and Dr. Claudia Welch. Surinda is passionate about sharing her love for these teachings.
