Wendy Matthews performs with her husband, classical guitarist Peter Matthews, in the Matthews Duo and with the Klimowski-Matthews Ensemble in Vermont. She has performed as an orchestral, chamber, and solo flutist and piccoloist throughout the U.S.
Life as a flute instructor has also included teaching at the University of Akron School of Music, Western Reserve Academy, and the Rymer School of Music. She is active as a performer and clinician in Vermont schools.
Wendy Matthews has studied with flutists from major U.S. and European orchestras, including George Pope, Julia Bogorad, Bettine Clemen, Philip Kaplan, and Lois Schaefer. Undergraduate studies also included piano and composition, working with composers Vivian Fine and Louis Calabro.
