Tara Goreau ’11, a graduate of JSC’s Studio Arts program and recipient of the President’s Rising Star Award in 2012, has been spending a fair amount of time in the spotlight lately. Most recently, Tara was featured in the Seven Days “Stuck in Vermont” video series for her work as a muralist (see it here!]). Her murals can also be found at High Mowing Seeds, Pete’s Greens, The Galaxy Bookshop, The Cellars at Jasper Hill and Sterling College. Check out her website to see more of her creations.

Courtney Gabaree ’10, another recipient of the President’s Rising Star Award in 2012, has also been spending a fair amount of time in the spotlight. Courtney recently testified to members of the VT Senate Judiciary Committee as part of her work as a youth advocate at H.O.P.E. Works, an anti-sexual violence organization in Chittenden County. Her passion for human rights was realized on a high school trip to Panama, and has been a driving force in her life ever since. Most recently she was named a Vermont Maker by VPT.

Jessica Albright ’09 is currently a singer/songwriter in the Boston area, moving there in 2010 to pursue her passion for music. She has been involved in projects such as The Unrehearsed, The Road Dawgs, Silver Breaks and The Four Letter Band and plays regularly at area hotspots. Jessie celebrated the New Year with the release of her new album, “Waiting Patiently”. She can be found on iTunes, Spotify, Facebook, and her website.
