Animation Festival Exhibit Opens Oct. 2 at NVU-Lyndon
Work by students at Northern Vermont University-Lyndon, Northern Vermont University-Johnson and Bennington College will be featured in an animation exhibit October 2- 26 at NVU-Lyndon’s Quimby Gallery. The exhibit is part of the annual Vermont Animation Festival, on several dates in October.
The exhibit and the festival, mostly at NVU-Lyndon October 16, are free and open to the public. The gallery’s regular hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. A gallery reception for the exhibit, which will focus on early animation techniques, will be at 6 p.m. October 16.
The festival, the only such event in Vermont, is sponsored by NVU-Lyndon, Catamount Arts in St. Johnsbury and The Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction. Various forms of animation will be represented at the festival, including film, zoetropes and digital work.

- 1 p.m. Oct. 13, clay animation workshop, Catamount Arts, 115 Eastern Ave., St. Johnsbury
- 1 p.m. Oct. 16, workshop on handmade film, Alexander Twilight Theater, NVU-Lyndon
- 7 p.m. Oct. 16, film screenings and talk by Lynn Tomlinson, a Baltimore-area interdisciplinary artist who specializes in animation and other media, Alexander Twilight Theatre
