“Big Badger Give” 24-Hour Challenge

Today, Tuesday, May 10, 2016, Johnson State College is celebrating the Big Badger Give! In celebration of our upcoming Commencement, we are holding a 24-hour giving challenge to raise $2000 in honor of the class of 2016!

How can you participate and help us meet our goal of raising $2000 today? There are a few ways:

Make a gift in honor of your favorite graduate! We will send them a letter letting them know of your generosity (we don’t share the amount of the gift) and include their name in Johnson Views magazine. You can do so by stopping by the Alumni Office.

Faculty and staff can sign up to make a payroll deduction gift! Donations made by staff and faculty via payroll deduction make a huge difference in the lives of our students. As a group, we are currently contributing $723 per payroll to 12 different funds. That totals $18,798 per year! Can we get it up to $20,000? As a group, we just need to contribute $47 more per payroll.

In celebration of The Big Badger Give, the fundraising task force is making the following special offers to staff and faculty (good today only):

• • Everyone who makes a new payroll deduction gift will be entered into a raffle to win a gift certificate to the book store. If you are not already giving, please consider starting with as little as $2 per payroll. $2 probably won’t make much difference in your personal budget, but it can make a huge difference in the life of a student. Please complete the attached form and return it to Lauren Philie (lauren.philie@jsc.edu).
• • Everyone who increases their payroll deduction gift will have that amount matched at 100% by an anonymous donor for the rest of the fiscal year!

Spread the word! Visit the JSC Facebook page and share the new video, change your profile picture to the Big Badger Give logo, and share the link to the giving page.

Visit us! While this is largely a virtual event, we invite you to stop by the Alumni Office to enjoy coffee, tea, and Badger cookies all day long or to visit the Fundraising Task Force at our table in the Dining Hall during lunch today.

Update: As of 12 p.m., we have raised $848! We’re getting close to the halfway mark! Thanks for your support and let’s keep the momentum going!

Final Update: Thank you to everyone who made a gift or payroll deduction and helped us raise $2098 yesterday in honor of the Class of 2016! We also increased payroll deduction gifts by $57 per payroll, which means we met our goal of contributing over $20,000 per year as a group. We very much appreciate the support of staff faculty in helping us meet our goal yesterday and for your ongoing financial support.
