Community Welcome to Celebrate Homecoming

Community Invited to Celebrate JSC Homecoming/Family Weekend, Sept. 21-23

Event Features ‘Kids Night Out,’ Aerolites Concert, Fireworks & More, with the SHAPE Center Open to the Public All Weekend

September 21, 2012

Community members are invited to join in the festivities Sept. 21-23 as Johnson State College celebrates Homecoming/Family Weekend 2012. The fun starts Friday, Sept. 21, with the first concert of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra’s annual “Made in Vermont” music tour and a “Kids’ Night Out” to give parents a night out of their own.

Friday’s “Kids Night Out” is sponsored by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at JSC. For just $10, children ages 4 to 12 can enjoy supervised play time – swimming, rock-wall climbing and other activities – from 6 to 10 p.m. in the JSC SHAPE Center. Contact Renee Breault at 635-1487 or Renee.Breault@jsc.edu for details.

Saturday’s highlights include a “Welcome Back to Vermont” Festival from 2 to 4 p.m. with a pop-up marketplace, kids’ activities and more. There will be a free concert by the Aerolites from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. on the South Lawn (rain location: Dibden Center for the Arts), followed by fireworks weather permitting.

In addition, the SHAPE Center will be free and open to the public through Sunday, Sept. 23!
