‘In Football We Trust’
Film following Pacific Islanders’ path to NFL to be screened Jan. 19
January 10, 2016
The film In Football We Trust will be screened at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, in the Stearns Student Center Cinema at Johnson State College. A discussion will follow.
This insightful and moving documentary feature film explores in rich detail the remarkable story behind the “Polynesian Pipeline” to the NFL. A contemporary American story, the film transports viewers deep inside the tightly-knit and complex Polynesian community in Salt Lake City, Utah, one of the chief sources for the modern influx of Pacific Islanders to the NFL.
Free and open to the public, the “Community Cinema” screening is being held in partnership with Indie Lens Pop UP and Vermont PBS. For more information, contact Barbara Flathers, 802-635-1200 or barbara.flathers@jsc.edu.
