John Miller’s Work on Exhibit at Vermont Folklife Center
Folklife Center Highlights John Miller’s Photography
June 11, 2011
From June 10 – September 13, the Vermont Folklife Center in Middlebury will display the work of Vermont photographers Richard Brown, Peter Miller, and JSC Professor John Miller in an exhibit entitled: “Visions of Place: The Photography of John Miller, Peter Miller, and John Miller.” Exhibit hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Folklife Center frames the show as follows: “Photographers Richard Brown (The View from the Kingdom, The Soul of Vermont), Peter Miller (Vermont People, Vermont Farm Women), and John Miller (Deer Camp, Granite & Cedar) have had an enormous impact on the ways in which people – both inside and outside Vermont – perceive the state and its people. This exhibit brings the work of these photographers together for a first time and poses the question, What do we value most about Vermont and how is this relevant to the challenges that we face today?”
The Vermont Folklife Center is located at 88 Main Street in Middlebury, VT. The number is 802-388-4964 and the website is www.vermontfolklifecenter.org.
