Johnson State Community Supports Hunger Free Vermont’s Annual Hike for Hunger
No. 1 Fundraising Team JSC Brings in $1,100
October 2, 2013
Johnson State College community members participated in Hunger Free Vermont’s annual Hike for Hunger on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Team JSC, the top fundraisers, brought in $1,100 to help support education and awareness surrounding hunger and nutrition for Vermont families. The event, held at the Catamount Outdoor Family Center in Williston, raised over $24,000 for Hunger Free Vermont.
Team JSC members participated through JSC’s SERVE program, which sponsors community-service events to connect students with Johnson and other local communities and provide help where it’s needed. The program aims to encourage student leadership development and provide assistance to JSC’s community partners, including animal shelters, nursing homes, community centers and outdoor areas.
