Harvey, Cannon selected to speak at national forums
September 11, 2015
Johnson State College’s athletics administrators have been selected to appear at national conferences to share their expertise.
Elaine Harvey, assistant director of athletics for communications, will be a panelist at the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) National Convention in Tampa, Fla., Oct. 11-13. She will discuss “Meeting in the Middle: Successfully Navigating Changing Work Environments and Generational Differences” with colleagues from Lehigh University, Wellesley College and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Over the past two years, the NCAA has selected both Harvey and Kristin Cannon, assistant director of athletics for student-athlete development and head women’s soccer coach, from a national pool of more than 300 applicants across all three NCAA divisions to facilitate NCAA curriculum.
Each JSC administrator was one of only 18 athletic administrators selected. Cannon facilitated at the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in Indianapolis, Ind., June 4-7, 2015. And Harvey was a facilitator at the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum in Providence, R.I., Nov. 7-10, 2013.
Both Cannon and Harvey attended four-day trainings at NCAA Headquarters in Indianapolis before their forums.
