JSC Outing Club to Host Gear Exchange

Members of the Johnson State College Outing Club are hosting a Gear Swap from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the SHAPE Fitness Center on the JSC campus.

“This is a chance for people to clean out their closets and get rid of items they don’t use anymore, and to purchase used equipment they want at a good price,” says student Tim Farr, one of the club members organizing the event. “People dropping off items can name their price. We will try to sell it for them, with 20% of the sales price going to the Outing Club as a donation.”

Any outdoor equipment in good, usable condition – including skis, snowboards, outerwear, footwear, camping equipment, kayaks, canoes, skateboards and bikes – is welcome.

Items may be dropped off from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 29 and 30, at the lower level of the Governor’s North residence hall. Items not sold the day of the event may be picked up at the same location from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5. Items not claimed will become property of the JSC Outing Club.
