JSC Professor Named President of Lamoille Economic Development Corporation

James Black, co-chair of the Business and Economics Department and professor of management at Johnson State College, has been elected president of the Lamoille Economic Development Corporation (LEDC).
Black has served on JSC’s faculty since 1987; his academic areas of interest include entrepreneurship, economic development and leadership.
A founding board member of VermontEntrepreneur.org, Black received a Ph.D. in systems science, an M.S. in mathematics and a B.S. in psychology from Portland State University. Previously, he served on the faculty at the University of Connecticut.
Joining Black on the LEDC are David Silverman, president and CEO of Union Bank, as vice president, and John Kingston, COO and CFO of Butternut Mountain Farm, as treasurer.
