Isaac Littlejohn Eddy to discuss how improv and acting can conquer fear of the unknown

September 3, 2015

An independently organized TED event on Saturday, Oct. 3, in Manchester will feature 18-minute talks by seven thought leaders, intellectuals and innovators, including Isaac Littlejohn Eddy, visiting assistant professor in Johnson State’s Department of Fine & Performing Arts.

Eddy will present “Extinction of Vulnerability – From Creative Opportunity to a Personal Exit Strategy” as part of TEDxBattenkill, held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Southern Vermont Arts Center.

“Now that we commune with self-curated social media,” he says, “we are less and less often put up against the uncomfortable and the unknown. I use improv and acting as a way to confront fear, tap into new forms of communication and creativity and re-learn how to listen.”

TEDxBattenkill is organized and produced by Michael and Carolina Ellenbogen of Eons Creative.

Tickets are $45 and available online. Proceeds will benefit the inaugural Manchester Screen Festival in June 2016.
