NVU named preferred university services partner to provide online academic outlet for college-ready players
The North American Hockey League (NAHL) is pleased to announce it has partnered with Northern Vermont University (NVU) to provide online higher education access for players. NVU has been named the preferred university services partner of the North American Hockey League and the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL).
With this partnership, players in both the NAHL and NA3HL that are high school graduates now have a league partner that can accommodate their continuing education online at the university level, while they play hockey.
“We live in a time where online learning is more prevalent than ever, so providing our post-graduate players with an accredited online option for college is a high priority in the development process of their education. The educational component is just as important as the on-ice component for the NCAA-bound player, so it is good to have a trusted and proven partner assisting us at the university level,” said NAHL Director of Communications and Marketing, Alex Kyrias.
“NVU Online welcomes this partnership with the NAHL and looks forward to working with its players to pursue an associate’s or bachelor’s degree through one of our fully online undergraduate programs,” said Bobbi Jo Carter, associate dean of Distance Education Programs at NVU. “All of our courses are taught by expert faculty who offer individualized attention to their students, so you’ll get a high level of support throughout your studies, along with faculty advisers who work specifically with NVU Online students.”
NVU Online is the distance-learning program of Northern Vermont University, a nationally recognized institution of higher education with campuses in Johnson and Lyndonville, Vt.
