NPR Tiny Desk Contest Winner Performs Oct. 24 at Northern Vermont University

Classically trained violinist and disability advocate Gaelynn Lea, who won NPR Music’s 2016 Tiny Desk Concert, will speak and perform Oct. 24 at Northern Vermont University’s Johnson campus.  
The talk at 4 p.m. and the concert at 7 p.m., both at Stearns Student Center Performance Space, are free for the public, but attendees are encouraged to reserve tickets.
Lea, from Duluth, Minnesota, tours full-time with her original songs and experimental take on fiddle music. At the talk, she will speak about her advocacy and her experience living with a congenital disorder known as brittle bone disease.
