Photography Exhibit Opens Jan. 30 at Johnson State College
Two-part exhibit will be displayed through March 17 at Dibden’s Julian Scott Gallery
January 30, 2017
“On Photography,” a two-part exhibit by artists in Vermont and elsewhere, will be displayed Jan. 30-March 17 in the Julian Scott Memorial Gallery at Johnson State College.
Receptions, free and open to the public, will be held at the gallery starting at 5 p.m. Feb. 8 for the “Response” display and 5 p.m. March 2 for the “Impression” display.
“Response” features work by Vermont artists Kelly Holt, Duncan Johnson and Mary Zompetti. Holt’s urban photography is black and white, Johnson’s photos relate to his woodworking studio, and Zompetti’s images explore the Iceland landscape. Zompetti’s series of 28 moon phases will be accompanied by an audio component.
“Impression,” which opens Feb. 27, features work by Brittany Powell of California and Cig Harvey of Maine. Harvey’s photos are from her “Gardening at Night” series, which explores home, family, nature and time. Powell’s work relates to “The Debt Project,” her multimedia study of the role that personal debt has in our lives.
