Poet Steve Langan to Read from Works
Author of ‘What It Looks Like, How It Flies’ to visit JSC on March 26

Poet Steve Langan, author of the 2013 collection What It Looks Like, How It Flies, will read from his work at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in the Stearns Cinema Room at Johnson State College. The reading is free and open to the public.
Langan, who teaches in the University of Nebraska MFA in Writing program, is founder and director of the Omaha-based Seven Doctors Project, through which area writers guide healthcare workers in a writing workshops. He also is author of Freezing (2001), Notes on Exile and Other Poems (2005) and Meet Me at the Happy Bar (2009).
In Prairie Schooner, Nicky Beer wrote this about Langan’s work: “Though the landscapes of the poems are distinctly interior and psychological, one cannot help but read this interior as a uniquely American one.”
Langan was born in Milwaukee and raised in Omaha. He earned degrees from the University of Nebraska and the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
