Miller hired as an assistant professor in the Education Department and is serving as JSC’s elementary education specialist.

EDUCATOR & SCIENCE TEACHER HANNAH MILLER JOINS EDUCATION FACULTY AT JOHNSON STATE COLLEGE
JOHNSON, VT – Johnson State College has appointed Hannah Miller as an assistant professor in the Education Department. Miller is serving as JSC’s elementary education specialist and is helping to direct the college’s inclusive elementary education program.
Miller comes to JSC from Michigan State University (MSU), where she taught in the College of Education’s Elementary Science Teacher Preparation Program and conducted research on environmental literacy in K-12 teaching and learning. She previously worked as an elementary science teacher and was a K-12 teacher in China from 2001-2009. She speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese.
Miller has a Ph.D. in curriculum, instruction and teacher education from MSU, an Ed.S. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Florida, an M.A. in environmental education from Goshen College (Indiana) and a B.A. in biology from Rhodes College (Tennessee).
A published author on climate change, education and other topics, she has received numerous awards, including the national K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award in 2015 from the Association of American Colleges and Universities. The award recognizes graduate students who show exemplary promise as future leaders in higher education.
