SHAPE Renovation to Begin May 18, 2009

On May 18, 2009, the next phase of the Johnson State College Master Plan will begin with the renovation of the SHAPE athletics and fitness facility. When the building comes back online in fall 2009, it will be a facility with increased accessibility and a host of new features, including:

• Dedicated, sound-proof spinning studio

• Group exercise room

• Climate-controlled fitness center

• Conference and meeting rooms

• New bleachers and flooring in the Varsity Gym

The entire facility will be closed to faculty, staff, students, and members of the public while this renovation takes place. Community members who have purchased SHAPE memberships will be refunded on a pro-rata basis. Current punch cards will be honored in the fall. No additional punchcards will be sold until the building reopens.
