January 27, 2017
LYNDONVILLE, VT – A one-of-its-kind Student Leadership Conference will be held at Lyndon State College on February 4, 2017. This annual free summit is open to students, faculty and staff at all Vermont colleges, private or public.
The daylong conference February 4, organized by LSC’s Department of Student Life, starts at 10:00 a.m. in the Moore Community Room at the Academic and Student Activity Center on campus.
The conference, the only one of its kind in Vermont, draws about 150 students from around the state. The event offers opportunities for students to connect with other students, faculty and staff and learn how to build leadership skills. Los Angeles magician Kayla Drescher will give the keynote talk, and the conference will include presentations on effective leadership in a college setting, social justice and other topics.
“This conference is a wonderful opportunity for current and future student leaders across our state. Attendees are able to network with other students, explore their leadership style and potential, and take that knowledge and energy back to their home campus,” LSC Director of Student Life Erin Rossetti says.
The event began in 2008 as a leadership conference for student resident assistants at Vermont state colleges. It has been expanded to include students from any college in Vermont.
