Talk on Helmet Use in Extreme Sports Oct. 2 at Northern Vermont University

Norwich University assistant professor of philosophy Brian Glenney will talk on helmet use in extreme sports Oct. 2 in the Current Topics in Science Lecture Series at Northern Vermont University.

The talks, all at 4 p.m. in Room 207 Bentley Hall on NVU’s Johnson campus, are free for the public and coordinated by NVU’s Environmental and Health Sciences Department. The series runs through the fall.  

Glenney’s talk is entitled “Skate and Destroy: Helmet Neglect in Extreme Sports.” His research interests include sensory perception, skateboarding and graffiti.

•         Oct. 16 — Elizabeth Gribkoff, a VT Digger reporter, “Bumble Bees, Solar Panels and Wastewater Plants: The Environmental Beat”
•         Oct. 23 — to be determined
•         Oct. 30 — Richard Taylor, North Carolina State University, “Quantifying Labile Organic Carbon Dynamics in Antarctic Peninsula Sediments: A Radiocarbon Approach”
