Talk on Multiculturalism Oct. 18 at Northern Vermont University-Johnson

Curtiss Reed Jr., director of the Vermont Partnership for Fairness and Diversity, will give the 34th annual Ellsworth Lecture at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at Northern Vermont University-Johnson.

The talk, in Bentley Hall Room 207, is free for the public. Reed will discuss a plan to foster a more multiracial and multiethnic Vermont.

The Ellsworth Lecture is funded by the Robert A. Ellsworth Trust and brings visiting scholars to NVU-Johnson to talk about their work.

Reed is a consultant on inclusion, bias and equity to Vermont municipal and state agencies, businesses and community organizations. He is chair of the Vermont advisory committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and is on statewide commissions related to law enforcement, education and health of minority residents. Reed has been involved with statewide initiatives including the Vermont African American Heritage Trail, the Vermont Vision for a Multicultural

Future, I Am a Vermonter and the Think Tank for Vermont Leaders of Color.
