Vermont Book Award Winner, Mass. Poet to Read from Works
Kerrin McCadden, Matthew Lippman to visit JSC on April 28

Johnson State College welcomes Vermont Book Award winner Kerrin McCadden and Massachusetts poet Matthew Lippman to read from their award-winning work on Thursday, April 28.
Free and open to the public, the reading will be held at 5:30 p.m. in Stearns Student Center’s Cinema Room.
McCadden is the author of Landscape with Plywood Silhouettes, inaugural winner of the 2015 Vermont Book Award, as well as the 2013 New Issues Poetry Prize, chosen by David St John. She is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship, a Vermont Studio Center Fellowship and the Sustainable Arts Foundation Writing Award. A graduate of the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College, she teaches English and Creative Writing at Montpelier High School. She lives in Montpelier.
Lippman is the author of four books of poetry, including his latest, Salami Jew, an extended rumination on one man’s relationship with Judaism. His book American Chew (Burnside Press, 2013) won the Burnside Review Book Prize; his book The New Year of Yellow (Sarabande Books, 2007) won The Kathryn A. Morton Poetry Prize and was a finalist for the 2008 Patterson Poetry Prize.
