Registration Open for Northern Vermont University Project Management Courses
Registration is open for project management courses in January and February 2020 offered by Northern Vermont University to help professionals in any field stay competitive in their careers amid ongoing workplace change.
The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) course Jan. 11-Feb. 1 will prepare students to take the CAPM exam offered by the international Project Management Institute. The Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Exam course Feb. 8-29 will prepare students to take the institute’s PMP exam.
The intensive, non-degree courses, both online, are taught by an instructor with extensive experience in the field. The courses are offered through NVU’s Center for Professional Studies (CPS).
“It’s really about being forward-thinking,” CPS Director Ann Nygard says. “The global labor market is undergoing major transformation. People who manage the transformation wisely will enter into a new age of good jobs that lead to a good quality of life.”
The courses offer potential “gateways to lifelong careers, which will include things like project management,” Nygard says.
With an anticipated surge in jobs globally through 2020 that require project management expertise, NVU’s project management certification preparatory courses will enable students to broaden their career options and possibly boost their earnings potential. According to the Project Management Institute, PMP certification yields an average 20 percent higher salary. “It’s the gold standard for project management professionals around the world,” Nygard says.
The courses feature a weekly conference-call coaching session and a test simulator with sample exam questions.
