Peer Mentors

Support Your Fellow Students as a JUMP Peer Mentor

JUMP, NVU-Johnson Undergrads Mentoring Peers, is a residence hall-based peer mentoring program that connects students with trained student mentors to help ensure your experience at Northern Vermont University-Johnson is smooth, enjoyable and successful.

JUMP mentors are sophomore and junior class NVU-Johnson students who have demonstrated high academic achievement, good organizational skills and exceptional maturity and responsibility. They know a lot about NVU-Johnson and the resources available to students and they have a strong desire to help you.

Mentors hold regular office hours in a designated space in the residence halls, and are there to answer quick questions, direct you to the right person or office to help you with an issue, or help you think through bigger problems or concerns. You can also just stop by and hang out for a little while.

Mentors also assist with residence hall programming and events, to help ensure opportunities for all students to get involved and be an engaged member of the community.
